Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre, Sandakan, Sabah

This is the largest Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre in the world, located at Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve, Sandakan, Sabah, Borneo.  The home town of Orang Utan, the Wildman of Borneo Rainforest!

It is a nice place to visit if you are visiting Sandakan. The Centre was established in 1964 for rescued orphaned Orang Utan from logging site, plantations, and illegal hunting.  You can see how orphaned Orang Utans being trained in the centre for surviving in the wild.

Long-tailed macaque and pig-tailed macaque are also available in the centre, you can see them walking around in the walkway when you walk in from the entrance to the feeding platform.  Different species of hornbills (Rhinoceros hornbill, Oreinted-pied hornbill, Black hornbill, and etc) also can be found in the centre.

Feeding time are twice a day:
10am in the morning and 3pm in the afternoon

Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre open daily from 9am to 12pm and 2pm to 4pm

Entrance fees:
Malaysian - Adult = RM 5.00, below 18 years old = RM 2.00
Non Malaysian - Adult = RM 30.00, below 18 years old = RM 15.00

Camera, camcorders are charge at RM 10.00 per unit
